Craig Redman. Born December 6, 1968. Citizen of Australia. Gold medallist, 30-34, 2000 ITU World Triathlon Championship. Born, raised, lives in Tasmania. Married to Jenni, twice Tasmanian Beach Sprint champion in surf lifesaving. Three young children. Recently resigned job with agricultural consulting company to complete his BS in Human Movement at the University of Tasmania. Background in basketball and surf lifesaving. First triathlon was the inaugural Devenport (Tasmania) Triathlon in 1985: "It was in the days of no wetsuits, no aero bars, no singlets, and we had no idea!!!" Silver medal in 25-29 at 1994 Tri Worlds in New Zealand, gold in 25-29 at Perth in 1997. Coached by Bill Davoren. Also credits Vic Walton, father of Aussie pro Craig Walton, for years of help in the pool. Assesses strength as ability to set goals and then achieve them: "I am very methodical". Weaknesses are beer, chocolate, and sex - not necessarily in that order. On his Buck's night, his mates stripped him and left him tied to a traffic light in his hometown of Ulverstone.
