Hawrelak Park in Edmonton sets the stage for the 2001 World Aquathlon Champs

ITU AQUATHLON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS OUT WEEK IN EDMONTON

The Edmonton ITU 2001 Triathlon World Championships in conjunction with ITU are pleased to announce that the 2001 Aquathlon World Championships have been added to the many festivities being hosted in the city in July.

EVENT DETAILS

Date: Wednesday 18 July 2001
Place: Hawrelak Park
Time: 5:30 p.m.
Distance: 2km run x 750 metre swim x 2 km run
Course:
Run: one lap out and back on paved, flat road (on World Championships run course),
Swim: one lap of World Championship swim course
Prize Money: $10,000usd - paid to top 10 men and women in elite field
Waves:
· Media Corporate Relay
· Citizens
· Elite Men and Women
Entry Fee: $35.00

Entry to Citizen's Wave: The citizens wave entry is limited to 200 on a first come, first serve basis. The entry form will be a downloadable pdf file on the Edmonton 2001 website at: www.triedmonton2001.com The software required to open and complete all pdf forms is available on the homepage of the ITU website - just click on the adobe icon.

Limited Citizen's Wave Entry: Starting at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time on June 1st, the entry form will be available online at www.triedmonton2001.com. Entry will close after 200 registrations or on 15 June, which ever comes first.

Elite Entry: Entry must be made through ITU, as per World Cup and World Championship events. Elite Entry Forms will be emailed to NFs on June 1.
