ITU Media Policy
The Local Event Organizers Will Provide as a Minimum:
  • Media Accreditation
  • Pre-Event Press Conference
  • Media Centre & Media Kits

ITU Will Provide:

  • An on-line Media Guide, including the most current athlete profiles & rankings
  • Photo distribution to wire service
  • Photo distribution to other trade magazines and media by request
  • Pre and Post Event Releases
  • Live event web coverage

Media Accreditation:

  • Each ITU World Cup Event will make a media accreditation form available ans all members of the media must request accreditation before traveling to the event.
  • Media vests will be distributed at Media Check In
  • A detailed map outlining media access will be available

Media Accreditation will be available on a three tiered basis:

  • Level 1 - Host/ ITU Media
  • Level 2 - Photo Access (Course Access secific to each event)
  • Level 3 - General Media

Pre-Event Press Conference:

  • Generally held the day prior to the event
  •  Athlete profiles, course information, schedules and other relevant information will be available at the press conference
  • Top ranked athletes are invited to the press conference

Media Briefing:

  • Areas of course access will be reviewed at the briefing
  • Event organizer’s will issue a detailed map of specific areas of access and a media transportation plan

Restricted Areas:

  • Swim Start: shore, water and boat access
  • Transition areas
  • Motorcycle access to the race course
  • Finish chute
  • Finish line area

Media Centre

  • Each event will provide a media center with media facilities and media packages

Media Violations

  • Media that do not abide by ITU Regulations will be subject to the loss of media access at all ITU events
