Chris Hill (AUS)
Nicknamed 'The professor,' Chris Hill from Brisbane, Australia is small in stature but consistent in all three disciplines. He held the second position in the rankings for much of 2003 and continues in his quest for the top spot. Chris is not a stranger to this coveted position at the top of the rankings - having won the President's Cup in 2001 as the overall World Rankings leader. Following a disappointing season in 2002 Chris has put in some great performances in 2003 - including an ITU World Cup win in Tongyeong, Korea. In addition to his gutsy triathlon performances Chris is known on the circuit as an 'entertainer', destined to perform on and off the field of play.

After conquering the sport of Triathlon here on Earth and snaring the coveted World Cup title in 2001, Hill decided to go back to Australia and race more and more. This is not a good idea, however, if you want to compete at the highest level consistently. After a disasterous 2002, Hill was heard to quip, "Top floor elevators have only one arrow" and the plummet began, dropping his World Ranking from one to a paltry four; seemingly for kicks. Whilst suffering badly from what psychologist's term 'President's Cup Induced Short Term Motivational Trauma.'

And thus the rebuilding of a shattered career began in earnest with Hill hiring the 'Rocky' series on video. Mimicking the movie plot, training techniques and the anti-hero's rags to riches storyline, Hill devoured training in a manner close personal friend Josh Dapice called, 'sponge-like'. Thus bringing us to the present day and World Cup season 2003. Hill's all out assault on another title. "This time for the fans."
