Madeira ITU World Championships Special Edition Update

Event Recommendations from the Organizing Committee:

Madeira Event Organizers would like to provide athletes with a few tips prior to leaving for Madeira:

- All athletes should plan for a wetsuit swim, the expected water temperature is 19 degrees celcius

- There have been several recent changes to the event schedule please visit http://www.trimadeira2004.com/ to view the changes


- Athletes who have paid event entry fees receive complimentary access to the events; friends, family and others must purchase tickets to the events. tickets are available at the following address: http://www.trimadeira2004.com/tickets.travel.php

Madeira Registration Update

The deadline for Aquathlon Registration is the April 15th, 2004 - a minimum of 200 athlete registrations are required by this date to ensure the Aquathlon goes ahead. Please note, athletes may sign up for the Aquathlon individually - registration through your NF is not necessary.

National Federations who wish to enter their athletes online in the Triathlon World Championships can request a password via email to newsletter@trimadeira2004.com. If your federation would like to enter athletes in the age group event please request permission of the LOC by fax. (Fax number: +351291782392) Requests will be evaluated on an individual basis; as the deadline for registration has now passed.

Airline Bike Transportation

When booking your airline ticket through TAP Air Portugal, the event airline partner - it is essential that all athletes mention they are traveling with a bike to their travel agent or to the airline.

TAP Air Portugal has increased their air cargo space to assist the event, however, they would like to know when passengers with bikes will be travelling.
