ITU News Update - 27 June, 2004

  1. GAAG AND SAPUNOV BATTLE TO THE LINE - SHATNAYA EASILY TAKES THE WIN: Dimitri Gaag had to outsprint team-mate Daniel Sapunov to take his third win in row in Asia at the ITU Seorak Asian Cup Traithlon. Ekatrina Shatnaya cruised to victory in the women's event .
  2. ITU - ETU LAUNCH TRI-YOUNG TRIATHLON VIDEO AT AGORA: Ed Rice, head of ITU Media launched the "TRI YOUNG" motivational video for youth, and the programme seems to have taken on a life of its own.
  3. ATHLETES PROFILES: ITU Media's Brian Mahony has been polishing up the Elite Athlete Profiles in preparation for the Olympic Media Guide - check them out on www.triathlon.org
  4. LISA OGILVIE MOVES OVER TO TELEVISION: Lisa has taken a full time position with TVNW, ITU Television production partner
  5. ITUTV PREPARES OFFICIAL LAUNCH IN TIME FOR EDMONTON ITU WORLD CUP: The dress rehearsals are over....ITU and our online media partners, "Imagination Innovations" are ready to launch ITUtv, our very own stage of the art media channel.
  6. PAN-AMERICAN CUP SERIES HITS THE BIG APPLE: USAT plays host to one of 5 PanAmerican Cup events this weekend in New York. Loretta Harrop, 1999 World Champion is making an appearance following her second place victory at the Madeira ITU World Championships.

  1. Blatchford (GBR), Kemper (USA) Win Bellingham Continental Triathlon - Williams, Plata qualify for American Olympic Team Excerpt of release from BJ Hoeptner- Evans, USAT - Hunter Kemper (USA) and Liz Blatchford (GBR) won the Bellingham ITU Continental Triathlon and Susan Williams and Victor Plata earned the final spots on the US Olympic team at the June 13 event.
