Event organizers report ideal weather conditions in Wildhaus for tomorrow's ITU Winter Triathlon World Championships. The elite races begin at 9:00 am local time (8:00 am GMT) on Saturday, March 13 and the Age Group, Junior and Relay Events take place on Sunday, March 14. Live coverage will be available on www.triathlon.org - visit the site for complete results, photos and stories. Further coverage will also be available on www.sportradio.ch, the new webbased radio station. Sigrid Lang (GER) and Patrick Kuril (SVK) are the pre- race favorites, but there is a strong field including some past winter world champions. The course involves a 5.6 km run, 10.4 km bike and 7.5 km ski in the Gamserugg Ski Area of Wildhaus. The complete start list is now available on www.triathlon.org. |

Liesbeth Stoltz; President ATU Writes: The African Triathlon Union will celebrate the Olympic year by hosting the ITU African Regional Triathlon Championships at Club Mykonos, a resort with a touch of Greece on the sun drenched west coast of South Africa. A cool swim in the protected yacht harbour, a technical cycle route with a typical Athens hill and a challenging run will test strength and skill of the local African and visiting International Triathletes. Registration and pre race briefings are on Friday 26 March, race day is on Saturday 27 March and on Sunday there will be a special Elite athlete breakfast.

Courtesy Salford Organizing Committe Following on from Salfords first, highly successful, ITU World Cup last year and triathlons tremendous debut at the XVII Commonwealth Games in Manchester 2002, 25 July 2004 sees the ITU return to Salford for the UKs second Triathlon World Cup event following the same exceptional course.
Not only is this the same course that attracted over 100,000 spectators in 2002 and has proved so popular with triathletes from around the world, but the race is also coordinated by the same acclaimed organisational team led by Race Director John Lunt of Human Race Events.

that you have all the information you need to provide for and prepare
your athletes effectively. This is the first of three bulletins that
will be distributed to National Triathlon Federations before the event
as follows:

Course
Travelling Arrangement: Getting to Manchester could not be simpler. Manchester Airport is one of the worlds top 20 international airports with direct flights to many of the worlds major cities. The airport is 20-30 minutes drive from both Manchester city centre and Salford Quays and dedicated transport between the airport and the official hotel(s) will be provided for both arrivals and departures (subject to pre-booking prior to arrival).
The Official Hotel: The official hotel is the Copthorne Hotel. This is a 4 star hotel adjacent to the Quays and just ten minutes walk from the race start/finish. A special rate of £65 (115 $US) per room per night is available whether occupied by one or two people. This rate includes full English breakfast. Also, this year the 10 highest world ranked men and the 10 highest world ranked women who are entered for the event at 1July 2004 will receive free accommodation for up to four nights at The Lowry a superb 5 star hotel in Manchester city centre and the venue for the Friday carbo party.
