For
the last three years, many of the town's citizens
have been looking forward to this event with great
anticipation. The long distance event in Fredericia
has been an annual phenomenon since 1995. This year's
World Championship event will be held over the traditional
'Ironman' distance of 2.4m x 112m x 26 (4km x 180km
x 42km).
Since
this year's event is a World Championship, the organisers
have seen a rush of participants like you wouldn't
believe, with over 500 Danes already registered. Never
before have so many Danish Triathletes joined a long
distance race.

now before it's too late . . .
This enormous amount of interest has resulted in tremendous
pressure on the town's hotels. So,
if you, as a national team, would like to stay close
to the action you must organize your hotel now.
So
far, age group teams from Canada, Australia, USA and
Britain have all booked their accommodations. The
following elite teams have also booked hotel rooms:
France, Spain, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, and Denmark.

Two
days racing sets new record . . .
On the program of the World Championship race in Fredericia
is also a world record. Never before has an organiser
arranged Long Distance Triathlon races two days in
a row, so the organisers have a couple of very, very
tough days in store.
$80,000USD
prize money . . .
The prize money at the World Championships in Fredericia
will be $80,000USD distributed equally to men and
women, according to ITU rules. Age-group category
winners will receive nice gifts.
Grand
award dinner . . .
On Sunday evening, the 5th August, a grand award dinner
will wrap up the official finale of the World Championship
event. Starting at 7:30pm, the dinner will consist
of a scrumptious buffet with a selection of wines.
All awards will be presented at this award dinner.
We hope to see a big crowd at this dinner to mark
the finale of the World Championship event.
